edmonton family photographer
At Appletree Photograph your family session will be so much more than sitting and smiling at the camera (and saying cheese).
Together, you and I will design amemorable, customized session based on what your family likes to do together. It is our intention to give you an experience and memories connected to your images that will last a lifetime. Yes, you will also get that ideal Christmas card photo you need to send to Grandma, but it is my hope that you will get so much more.
When I met with this sweet couple at the beginning of the summer and became their chosen photographer to capture their journey to "baby" I was super excited. Salima and Alykhan are not only a wonderful couple and parents-to-be but they are also surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends. Capturing the details and effort that was made to throw their amazing literary themed shower was heart warming. Finding the right song for a slideshow can be tough at times but finding a song inspired by Robert Munch's children's classic "I love you forever" seemed like the perfect choice for this book loving couple!
Keep watching the blog and facebook page, a maternity photo shoot before baby "S" makes his or her arrival will be coming next month!
I admit it freely, I am a sucker for a good funny face photo!
In an age where too much emphasis is placed on appearance and ultimate perfection I think its great when a client (or their kids) want to make funny faces. And truth be told these are the images I am drawn to edit first! Yes, I often Love the candid crazy faces best. And from the looks of it, so do the kids…. :)
Here is a fun collection of faces from tonight’s cousins storytelling shoot.
Since this beautiful client wrote me such a nice review and included the line "Melissa did an amazing job capturing our personalities" I thought I would share this fun sneak peek.
I LOVED doing this family shoot this past mothers day. The love for their daughter these two have was evident in every moment throughout the shoot.
The photos below may not be the norm, every client wants the perfect "everyone is smiling and looking at the camera photo, to send to Grandpa or Grandma (and as a photographer I am sure to capture those moments as well) But in time, I find its these unrehearsed funny, playing with the camera/adorably surprised baby faces that 5, 10, 25 years from now will be the ones you pull out to show friends, display at graduations, post for milestone birthdays and put in your children's wedding slideshows.
I feel truly very blessed when a Mom & Dad trust me and my camera enough to let loose and show off their personalities and "silly sides" and play with their kids because you never know this photo may become one of your and your children's favorite picture.
